Reward based dog and puppy training
Liarne Henry lived with her father in Florida, U.S.A., for several months. She frequently visited "Sea World," virtually making it her second home. She carefully studied the Dolphins and their training - free of punishment but 100% reward based - and was inspired to employ that same reward based clicker-training for dogs.
After further work with vets, animal naturopaths and animal behaviourists, she customized her own individual training based on canine psychology (the way dogs think and learn) She found her methods produced excellent results when, for eight months, at an animal shelter in Munich, Germany, she took care of a wolf that had been rescued from a circus. Her kindness and inventive play-training transformed the fear-aggressive wolf into a cooperative canine.
Today, in addition to conducting puppy pre-school classes and adult dog classes at various vets and shelters, Liarne Henry offers individual in home One-on-One training for problem dogs and dog problems.
Liarne does not charge hourly rates. She works with owner and dog until the necessary training is accomplished. Only in a relaxed atmosphere, free from the limiting factor of time or distractions caused by other dogs, and free from concerns about hourly rates, can both owner and dog work to a well customised plan. Liarne's training is both effective and educational. She provides free follow-ups, so that, after she has worked with a dog, she is always ready to provide advice via internet and phone.
Liarne Henry also conducts free courses at schools known as "Child Awareness with Dogs" and is an excellent educator of children as well as adults.
